Free Wheel Strategy Trade Tracker
Running the wheel gets messy fast: rolled puts, assignments, covered calls on shares you were put, and a cost basis that keeps moving. This free tracker runs right on this page and keeps it all in one place.
Private by design: your trades are saved only in this browser on this device (using your browser's local storage). Nothing is uploaded or sent anywhere, and there's no signup. Clearing your browser data erases the log.

How It Works
- Net premium per trade = (premium per share − close cost per share) × 100 × contracts − fees.
- Breakeven: for a put, strike minus premium; for a covered call, your adjusted share basis minus premium.
- Adjusted basis per share: when a put is marked Assigned, 100 shares per contract are counted at the strike. Basis = assignment price − (all net premium on that ticker ÷ shares held). Marking a covered call Called away removes those shares.
The "Load hypothetical example" button fills in made-up trades on a made-up ticker (XYZ) to show how it works. The numbers are hypothetical, not real results. Delete them before you log your own trades.
Run the Numbers Before You Sell
The free Wheel Premium Calculator shows breakeven, return on capital and annualized return for a cash-secured put or covered call before you place it. After assignment, the Wheel cost basis calculator double-checks the running basis shown above.
Keeping a clean log also makes tax time easier. See the records checklist in our Wheel strategy taxes guide, and look up any unfamiliar term in the Wheel strategy glossary.
The Full Playbook
